Well, no. Although that’s what PMP Today is calling it – while pointing out it’s been available on micsourcing since the end of July – I suspect that the similarity intended was to the iPhone, and given that the iPod Touch was also inspired by Apple’s ultra-successful phone… well, you see where I’m going with this.
Look closer and there are some good reasons not to invest in this clone. For a start, though we complained about the iPod Touch’s faintly parsimonious capacity, this only holds 2GB. The Portronics-made device does have a mini-SD slot to add another 4GB and the touch screen is only a shade smaller at 2.8″. Supported formats are MPEG-4, AVI, WMA, MP3 and JPEG and it shoehorns in a speaker, FM tuner and microphone, although given it appears to be thicker even than an iPhone that’s not quite as impressive.
